Drake Maye can cook on the field, but can he cook in the kitchen?
The New England Patriots quarterback, 23, shed light on his cooking skills — or lack there of — when asked at Super Bowl Opening Night about his own talents in the kitchen compared to his wife Ann Michael, who’s gone viral for her baking videos on TikTok.
“I’m not great, not great at all,” Maye told PEOPLE of his culinary capabilities when speaking to a room full of media for the 2026 Super Bowl kickoff event held at the San Jose Convention Center on Monday, Feb. 2.

“I leave that up to my wife, she’s a baller,” he added of Ann Michael, 22, his high school sweetheart who’s become synonymous for her sweet treats and cooking demos, amassing a growing fanbase across her social media platforms since sharing her recipes online.
He added, “She’s the best at it, and I love her for it.
Then, the Super Bowl-bound QB shared what he prides himself in cooking — his revealed his go-to dish in the kitchen.
“What I can do… I can do a little baking in the morning,” he says with a laugh. “Other than that, I can do a bacon egg and cheese… a bacon egg and cheese is about all I can do for breakfast — other than that, I can do a PB&J and a grilled cheese. That’s about it.”

As for what he hopes Ann Michael bakes if he and the Patriots defeat the Seattle Seahawks in the 2026 Super Bowl?
“Whatever she wants. Whatever she wants, she deserves it. She’s been a part of the journey, so she wants. Whatever she wants to celebrate with,” he replied with a smile.
The NFL WAG is known for her wholesome TikToks where she shares her crafting projects, gameday outfits and her baked good recipes. Her baking prowess has even prompted her to launch an NBC Sports Boston show, Beyond Bakemas, where she presents her best recipes.

Some of the sweets she bakes on TikTok and Beyond Bakemas get sent to the New England Patriots quarterback’s workplace, but the 23-year-old still gets a taste of all the goodies.
In a recent clip shared to the NFL’s official Instagram, Drake ranked a handful of the sweets his sweetie has made.
“Cinnamon Roll Snickerdoodle, she just made those for the linemen this week. That’s my number one,” he said confidently at Opening Night. Her Puppy Chow (a no-bake snack made of Chex cereal, chocolate, peanut butter and powdered sugar) earned the number three spot.
The NFL star admitted that not all of her recipes are exactly his taste, but that he can still appreciate them, like her Pistachio Bread: “I think it’s good, I’m not a fan. I’ll put that at four,” he said.
He also highlighted that her Crumbl Copycat Sugar Cookies were his second-favorite.
Drake Maye may keep his body finely tuned as a Super Bowl-bound quarterback of the New England Patriots, but make no mistake — he’s got a major sweet tooth too.
While preparing for the biggest game of the season, the star athlete, 23, took a moment to praise wife Ann Michael Maye’s cooking and rank his favorite treats that she makes in a video shared by the NFL via X on Tuesday, February 3.
“Cinnamon Roll Snickerdoodle, she just made those for the linemen this week. That’s my No. 1,” he said with a smile, reflecting on the other goodies that Ann Michael, 22, has whipped up for him.

“I’ll put Puppy Chow, that’s No. 3,” he said of the snack, which is a mix of Chex cereal, chocolate, peanut butter and powdered sugar. “Pistachio bread — I think it’s good, I’m not a fan. I’ll put that at four. And the [Crumbl Copycat Sugar Cookies] … I’ll put that at 2.”
Sports WAG Ann Michael, who is also known for her fun crafting projects and stylish gameday outfits on TikTok recently dished about the kind letters she’s received from his teammates.
“The O-line is like the main recipient for my baked goods,” she shared with NBC Sports Boston. “Occasionally they’ll write me a thank you note. It’s so funny, it’s like, ‘just keep feeding us. We need to protect your husband so we need to keep on the extra weight. If you need a bodyguard we’ll be your bodyguard.’”
Ann Michael has proven to be a force of her own, amassing a TikTok following of more than 440,000 and 323,000 on Instagram. “[She’s the] Queen of the North. Everyone loves her. She’s our girl,” Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy told The New York Post about her public appeal.

“She is exactly how she seems. Very nice, very sweet,” Portnoy, 48, added, praising her for being down-to-Earth and not fame-hungry. “She seems like a 100 percent normal woman.”
“There’s so many things going on with WAGs and influencers. They are trying to go viral, they are using filters,” Portnoy said, also raving over Drake being a good catch for the team. “I think everyone at the Pats thinks they hit the jackpot with the two of them. She’s just so likable.”
Ann Michael, who went viral for wearing an “I [heart emoji] Drake Maye” sweatshirt, during his game against the Houston Texans, will certainly be cheering for her beau when he takes on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, February 8. (If Drake leads the team to victory, it would be the Pats’ seventh Super Bowl win, and the first since Tom Brady left in 2020.)
