The Lincoln Lawyer casts beloved ’80s star’s tween son for new season – find out who

Season five of The Lincoln Lawyer has a fresh update and some exciting cast news! The Netflix legal drama’s new season is now in production and alongside a string of new recurring guest stars, is the son of an 80s sitcom star.
Saved by the Bell’s Mario Lopez was delighted to announce his son Dominic’s involvement in the show.
Taking to Instagram, he posted snapshots of the 12-year-old sitting in a casting chair and watching a scene unfold on the streets of Los Angeles.
Maria simply captioned the post: “The hustle is hereditary…#DominicLucianoLopez #TheLincolnLawyer #ProudDad.”
Dominic is the spitting image of his famous dad with his olive skin, dark hair and dimples.
Budding career
Mario spoke about his son’s role in The Lincoln Lawyer during his podcast when he said: “My son plays young Rafa and he has to get very emotional and it is heavy scenes. I’m just so proud of him. In his audition scene he had to get very emotional and he really delivered and ended uo getting the part. Just very, very proud of him.”
It’s not the first time Dominic has landed an acting job and Mario opened up about his budding career during an appearance on Today Show in December 2025.
“He’s guest-starring on Matlock this week,” he said at the time. “And he did three movies this year. Now, he’s working with Academy Award winners and stuff, so we’re real proud of him. He’s doing great.”
Mario’s family
In addition to Dominic, Mario shares two other children, Gia, 15, and Santino, six, with his wife, Courtney Lopez.
His middle child also starred alongside his parents in the festive flick, Once Upon a Christmas Wish in 2024, and Mario confessed they had “a blast” together.
The Lincoln Lawyer has seven other new recurring guest roles including Silicon Valley‘s Chris Diamantopoulos, Orange is the New Black‘s Diane Guerrero, Shameless star, Steve Howey, and The Pitt‘s Iker Garcia.

Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) will climb into the backseat of his Lincoln Navigator for the fifth season of The Lincoln Lawyer. The legal drama, which follows the Haller and Associates team as they defend LA’s trickiest clients, has been renewed for a fifth season, and is in production now.

Who’s in the cast of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5?
In addition to Garcia-Rulfo, The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5 will also star Cobie Smulders as Mickey’s sister, Emi Finch, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson. Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angelica Maria, and Gigi Zumbado will all return as recurring guest stars.

What happens in The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5?
In The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5, Mickey Haller’s world is upended when the half-sister he never knew existed, Emi (Smulders), comes to him with a plea to help free a wrongfully convicted woman. In a season defined by blood ties and buried secrets, Mickey takes on a grueling habeas petition to overturn a six-year-old murder conviction, but the deeper he digs, the more nefarious the forces arrayed against him become.
Meanwhile, the stakes rise for his trusted team as Lorna (Newton), Izzy (Raycole), and Cisco (Sampson) step up to tackle high-profile challenges of their own. Having just saved himself from a wrongful conviction in Season 4, Mickey is now determined to set right an enormous miscarriage of justice. But as he unravels a dangerous web of corruption and lies, he must grapple with the fractured legacy of his family — both his chosen family and the family he never knew he had.
Humphrey and Rodriguez say that Mickey’s experience — being wrongfully accused and put on trial for murder in Season 4 — fundamentally altered him. “What that change means to Mickey or how that change manifests itself in his life is obviously something we’re excited to explore going forward,” says Humphrey.
The fifth season will consist of 10 episodes, inspired by the seventh book in The Lincoln Lawyer series, Resurrection Walk, by author Michael Connelly.
